The Spartan Nation Welcomes the 8th Commitment for 2010 and the First From Ohio and First OL Travis Jackson, From Columbus!
MSU added their eight commitment today to the class of 2010. Guard Travis Jackson from Columbus, Ohio became the first commitment from the state of Ohio and the first OL for this class.
He is a big 6’4†youngster who at 255 is going to enjoy another year of growth as a senior and then with another year as a red shirt with Coach Ken Mannie. Jackson has very good feet and speed for an OL.Â
Jackson committed to the Spartans late this afternoon. He is a highly intelligent player that had offers from all over the country. Although not the biggest, he is only a junior with a frame that can easily expand to over 300 pounds. Jackson is blessed with his good speed and technique he is a great addition.
Jackson has an explosive first step that allows him to dominate his opponents and with his speed and agility, he is able to pull and get into the LBs on his blocking assignments. He plays both OL and DL at DeSales High School, but is seen as primarily an OG at MSU.
As mentioned earlier Jackson is the Spartans eight commitment for 2010 and the Spartans will have a huge camp with a lot of top rated recruits in town on Saturday. That camp is a one-day event and with the momentum the Spartans have, that number of eight is expected to grow soon.
