Despite a great effort from Kevin Vickerson at defensive tackle for the Broncos, Keshawn Martin and the Texans prevailed over Denver, 31-25. Vickerson racked up three tackles, two assists and a forced fumble. Martin also had a good day, rushing the ball once for 21 yards and catching two passes for 20 yards. The rookie wideout was targeted four times by quarterback Matt Schuab in the contest.

In a duel between young, talented quarterbacks, Andy Dalton and the Bengals beat Robert Griffin III and the Redskins, 38-31. Defensive tackle Domata Peko was part of a Cincinnati defense that notched six sacks, eight tackles for loss and thirteen quarterback hits. By himself, Peko recorded two tackles and one assist on the day. Backup quarterback Kirk Cousins did not see any playing time for Washington.

Brandon Fields had another great day at punter for the Dolphins in a 23-20 loss to the Jets. Fields booted the ball four times for a whopping average of 58.8 yards, with the longest being 62 yards.

Bears starting tight end Kellen Davis reeled in two passes for 20 yards in Chicago’s 23-6 victory over the Rams. Davis has only had three receptions all season, because the Bears have been forced to keep him back in pass protection. According to the Rockford Star-Register, the former Spartan is being patient and accepting his role on the team right now, though he’d like to see more passes thrown his way. The highly touted 49ers fell to the Vikings this weekend, 24-13, as tight end Garrett Celek watched from the sidelines. Celek did not play, though safety Trenton Robinson did. Robinson did not record any stats in the loss.

Quarterback Drew Stanton of the Colts did not play in the team’s last minute 22-17 defeat at the hands of the Jaguars.

Packers second round pick Jerel Worthy exited Monday night’s game with an apparent knee injury. Worthy was the victim of a cut block to the knee by Seahawks left guard Paul McQuistan. He eventually returned, but didn’t’ t record any stats, as Green Bay lost 14-12 to Seattle in a wild finish.

On the Injury Front:

Running back Javon Ringer participated in practice all week for the Titans but was held out of Tennessee’s 44-41 triumph over the Lions. Ringer has not played in a game so far due to an elbow infection he contracted before the first game.
