Emmanuel Karmo, the top-ranked football recruit in Minnesota’s 2025 class, announced on social media Friday that he’s staying home and committing to Minnesota.

Karmo, a linebacker out of Robbinsdale Cooper, fielded a host of other Division I offers and recently narrowed down his top-seven schools, all of which were in the Big Ten — Wisconsin, Oregon, Penn State, Minnesota, Ohio State, Southern California and Nebraska.

The Gophers have kept Minnesota’s top-ranked recruit at home for a second consecutive year.

Koi Perich, the top-ranked recruit in Minnesota’s 2024 class, notably signed on national signing day despite a last-minute visit from Ohio State attempting to court the safety away.

Gophers head coach P.J. Fleck celebrated Karmo's commitment in typical fashion.
