Former Minnesota prep star edge rusher Jaxon Howard leaving LSU

In this story:
Jaxon Howard, the former four-star recruit who was the No. 1 player in Minnesota's high school Class of 2023, is leaving LSU.
Howard has entered the transfer portal after his redshirt freshman season at LSU saw him play in five games, seeing action mostly on special teams while also working in from time to time as an edge rusher. He had one tackle and a quarterback hurry in the ReliaQuest Bowl against Wisconsin.
Where Howard goes in the portal is unknown, but he was considering Minnesota, Miami and Michigan before settling on LSU last summer. In high school, he was ranked 87th in the country by 247Sports.
Howard is the son of former Minnesota Vikings defensive lineman Willie Howard, who coached him in high school at Robbinsdale Cooper in the Twin Cities.
