Just A Bulldog Minute: Two Standouts From Mississippi State Victory Over Florida

Two women's basketball players who stood out during the Bulldogs' win against the Florida Gators.

On Monday, the Mississippi State Bulldogs took down the Florida Gators on the road in Gainesville with an 89-77 victory in women's basketball. This victory advanced the team to a record of 16-5 overall, and 3-3 in the SEC.

Two players especially stood out for the visiting team. 

The first was  Jerkaila Jordan-Jordan took the game by storm with with her ninth career double-double racking up 21 points and 12 rebounds in 35 minutes. The senior guard also collected 10 points within a single quarter, and totaled 13 points in the first half.

The second standout who deserved to be recognized was graduate student center Jessika Carter. This talented center added her 36th career double-double and racked up  20 points and 15 rebounds within the span of 37 minutes.

Carter closed out a speedy 6-0 run over the first minute of the fourth quarter. She  ended the game 5-for-6 from the field with 10 points and five rebounds in the fourth quarter. When she notches a double-double, Mississippi State is 18-0 overall, and 8-0 for this season.

The incredible performance by these two athletes secured an exciting win on the road for Mississippi State. The Lady Bulldogs will return next Monday at 6 p.m. to face the LSU Tigers in Humphrey Coliseum.
