Gymnastics: Mizzou at Alabama, 6 p.m. CT, SEC Network

Thursday's Result

  • Women's basketball: South Carolina 81, Mizzou 57. Bree Hall scored a career-high 21 points, Te-Hina Paopao added 15 and No. 1 South Carolina pulled away in the second half for an 81-57 victory over short-handed Missouri. Already playing without starting guard Mama Dembele and two others due to injuries, the Tigers got into foul trouble and the Gamecocks took advantage with a 17-2 run late in the first half. Sophomore guard Ashton Judd led Mizzou with 16 points and seven rebounds. Senior forward Hayley Frank tallied 16 points and six rebounds. Freshman guard Grace Slaughter notched 12 points.

Did You Notice?

  • Based on last week's scores, Mizzou gymnastics at Alabama is a No. 3 vs. No. 4 matchup. The Tigers posted a 197.150 at home in the Mizzou Invitational to shatter the program record for highest score in a season opener. The Crimson Tide's 197.125 was at the Mean Girls Super 16 in Las Vegas. They were two of just four teams in the country to record a score of 197 or higher, Oklahoma and Utah being the others.  
  • One matchup to keep an eye on is junior Jocelyn Moore and Alabama's  Gabby Gladieux on floor. They both scored 9.975 last week, tying for the best in the  nation. 
  • Missouri won last year's matchup at home, 197.075-196.750 on March 3, 2023.
  • South Carolina women's basketball has won 65 straight regular-season games. Dawn Staley's last non-postseason loss was the overtime setback at Missouri on Dec. 30, 2021.
