This will be a game to forget for the Missouri Tigers.

After a convincing road win, Missouri would continue its home stretch against Memphis by catching fire in the first half to go up 14 points at a point in the first half.

Missouri would go on to get outscored 44-22 in a second half. Missouri would go cold in the second half, ending with a mark of 6-of-28 on shots from three. Missouri would only have one assist in the second half, and at the end of the day the Tigers wouldn't be able to pull through.

Here are some notes from the game:

First Half

  • The crowd could play a real role in this game. You can feel the sold out energy pre-game. Tip-off is moments away.
  • Noah Carter knocks home a three-point jumper for the first bucket of the game and Mizzou Arena is electric.
  • Mizzou is crashing the offensive glass well and it's creating space outside for wide open shooters.
  • Mizzou is opting to play full-court press early, pushing tempo after big buckets and allowing the crowd to get into the game.
  • Missouri decided they needed to play big, wheeling out their tallest line-up of the season to counter Memphis.
  • Sean East III hit a behind-the-back move to a moving floater that made the crowd erupt, live momentum seems to be swinging Missouri's direction up 24-13.
  • John Tonje gets his first bucket of the season as the shot clock expires after not playing last game.
  • Memphis is not only leaving points on the board by being 0-4 in their free throws, but they're creating transition offense for Missouri by missing the front end of 1-and-1s.
  • Missouri is shooting just 4/15 on the night, creating open looks off of Memphis' zone defense, just failing to capitalize.

Second Half

  • Memphis' offense has come out of the break on fire, helped in part to Missouri's inability to pass the ball without turning the ball over thus far.
  • Missouri has allowed Memphis to tie the game up at 38 a piece after a 16-5 run by Memphis. Momentum in this game has heavily shifted in Memphis' favor.
  • Memphis is getting inside with ease and exposing Missouri's lack of a true center.
  • Missouri has found themselves on the wrong side of a 29-7 run, allowing Memphis to go up 10 points. Missouri's having issues figuring out this Memphis defense.
  • For a team that hasn't been able to find the bottom of the net, Missouri may find its saving grace in the bonus with 12:30 left to play.
  • Missouri has been given opportunities to get back into this game, but they can't. After leaving four points on the free throw line, they miss back to back threes on the other end. A team should never fully walk away from its identity, but at some point you have to realize it's not your night from three-point range.
  • The early abandoners have started to make their way to the doors, Missouri has shot themselves out of this game for the entire second half.
  • This game was more than winnable for Missouri, who failed to convert time and time again from every spot on the floor.
