After defeating No. 25/25 Auburn 5-2 on Friday, No. 12/12 Missouri softball will look for its 20th win of the season in the second game of a three-game series against the Tigers from the South.

A win today would mark Missouri's first series win in its conference opener since 2020, when the Tigers swept Ole Miss in three games.

How it Happened

  • Julia Crenshaw kicks off the day with a sliding catch in foul territory.
  • Missouri puts together an impressive defensive inning in the top of the first. After Crenshaw's sliding catch, Maddie Gallagher makes a clean scoop and fire to get the runner at first. Sandwiched in-between was a strikeout from Cierra Harrison.
  • Laird rips a two-strike single to lead off the bottom of the second. It doesn't take her long to steal second base.
  • Alex Honnold hits a bloop single into left field. Had there been two outs, Laird might've scored. Nevertheless, Missouri has runners on second and third with no outs.
  • Laird scores on a wild pitch, Honnold advances to third. 1-0 Missouri
  • Makayla Packer just completed an inning-ending double-play with a running catch in center that was followed by a frozen rope to nail Honnold at the plate.
  • Harrison just sat down Anna Wohlers with a nasty changeup.
  • Make it two nasty strikeout changeups in a row for Harrison.
  • Katie Chester makes it to second with an assist from the sun. Right fielder Icess Tresvik lost Chester's fly ball in the sun. It's scored as a double.
  • Auburn's defensive woes continue, as Rose Roach's bobbled grounder allows Madison Walker to reach first.
  • Chantice Phillips cranks a three-run home run to right center field. 4-0 Missouri
  • Kayley Lenger rips a grounder down the left field line for a stand-up double. Auburn starter Annabelle Widra is taken out of the game.
  • Honnold tags Auburn reliever Shelby Lowe for an RBI single. 5-0 Missouri
  • After a couple of scoreless half-innings, Harrison is still cooking. She just struck out Wohlers with an off-speed pitch again. Harrison has five strikeouts through three and a third.
  • Make that six strikeouts.
  • Seven! Harrison just struck out the side in the top of the fourth.
  • Harrison ends the top of the fifth inning with a strikeout, her eighth of the afternoon.
  • Icess Tresvik makes up for her fielding gaffe from earlier with a diving catch in the bottom of the fifth.
  • Harrison ends another no-hit inning with a slick snare.
  • Emmah Rolfe has come in to relieve Shelby Lowe for Auburn.
  • Missouri can't capitalize with two runners on. Still 5-0 heading into the seventh inning.
  • FINAL: Missouri 5, Auburn 0. Missouri moves to 20-2, while Auburn drops to 12-4-1.
