Missouri softball is undefeated through the first seven games of the season, which is the team's best start since 2020 when the Tigers jumped out to a 9-0 start before losing to James Madison.

The team has two ranked wins over then No. 13/16 Utah and No. 5/7 Clemson, both of which came in the NFCA Division I Leadoff Classic

This week, in the Tracy Beard College Classic, the Tigers opened the event with two wins on Friday against Texas A&M-Commerce and South Dakota State, and will take on the Jackrabbits again Saturday morning before playing the host of the event, North Texas, twice to close out the Classic.

In a season where many of Missouri's SEC opponents are also dominating non conference play early, the Tigers are putting themselves in good position for when they do begin SEC play against Auburn on March 8.

Sophomore Cierra Harrison, who logged a no hitter in Friday's game against TAMU-Commerce, is the top pitcher in the SEC after allowing just two hits and zero runs in three appearances so far this season.

From the plate, Alex Honnold leads the Tigers with a near .400 batting average, and senior Jenna Laird is one of the conference's top base runners with five stolen bases in seven games.

While SEC play has been hard for Missouri since joining the league, having yet to win the regular season or tournament title, this year's team has put together a strong resume through the early part of the season and looks ready to take on the conference's best.
