Wolfpack Basketball Commit Terquavion Smith is the Real Deal

NC State fans have gotten a glimpse of what to expect in four-star Class of 2021 basketball commit Terquavion Smith over the past two weeks.
And they have to be excited by what they've seen.
The kid can flat out score, especially from the perimeter where he promises to give the Wolfpack its most consistent three-point threat since Scott Wood graduated in 2013.
The only downside is that coach Kevin Keatts will have to wait for him to play his senior season of high school at Farmville Central in 2020-21 before he plays his first game at PNC Arena.
A week after winning MVP honors at a pair of tournaments in Myrtle Beach, Smith provided another sneak preview of his ability this weekend at the Big Shots Hoops Nationals in Rock Hill, S.C.
Even though his team, Tea Marie Hoops, lost for the first time in nine games on the summer circuit, the 6-foot-3 guard put on another scoring show Sunday by hitting for 28 points in a 78-76 loss to Team Curry UAA.

The biggest matchup of the weekend has been exciting so far. Terquavion Smith ends the half with his 4th 3 and has 14 points. Bobby Pettiford has 10. Jamarii Thomas has been good and AJ Allenspach has 7 for Curry.@Tgetsbuckss23 pic.twitter.com/JoPkoFcjkn
Not only did Smith hit five three-pointers while leading his team in scoring, he outshined highly-touted teammates Bobby Pettiford and Dontrez Styles in the process.
Pettiford, a Louisville commit, finished with 16 points while North Carolina pledge Styles had nine.
Smith also added 20 points, with four three-pointers, in his first game of the weekend Saturday afternoon in a 71-65 win against Juice All-Stars NC Stephenson. His 24.0 point per game average was the second highest in the field.
Smith, the No. 3-ranked player in North Carolina, has led Farmville Central to back-to-back 2A state championships.
