Acceus Named ACC Linebacker of the Week

Louis Acceus was named ACC Linebacker of the Week on Monday after a career-best performance that saw him record three of his team's eight sacks and make 14 tackes in NC State's 16-10 win against Syracuse.
The junior from Spring Valley, N.Y.is the third Wolfpack player in as many games to earn weekly recognition from the ACC, joining defensive back Chris Ingram (Ball State) and defensive lineman Larrell Murchison (Florida State).
"That's awesome," coach Dave Doeren said of Acceus' performance after the game. For a kid from New York to be able to play like that against Syacuse, too ... Lous has been very steady this year. He's a very athletic guy."
Acceus' sacks led to 30 yards in losses as State held Syracuse to just 41 yards rushing. Two of his other tackles were third down stops that ended Orange drives. For the season, he ranks second on the Wolfpack with 36 tackles and his four sacks are second behind Murchison's seven.
The other ACC Players of the Week named Monday are Louisville's Evan Conley (Quarterback and Freshman) and Hassan Hall (Specialist), Clemson's Travis Etienne (Running back) and Matt Bockhorst (Offensive lineman), Wake Forest's Sage Surratt (Wide receiver), Duke's Victor Dimukeje (Defensive lineman) and Miami's Jrajan Bandy (Defensive back).
