Justin Kabera Previews This Weekend's Nebraska Visit

The 2025 cornerback from South Dakota is eager to see the Huskers' practice Saturday

The Nebraska Cornhuskers are set to have a special visitor on campus.

Justin Kabera is a class of 2025 cornerback from Harrisburg High School in Harrisburg, South Dakota. He measures in at 6-foot and 170 pounds and is set to visit the Huskers over the weekend. The team will hold its sixth practice of spring ball on Saturday.

He caught up with HuskerMax to preview his visit to Lincoln.

“I’m honestly looking forward to how the spring ball practice goes and is run because I feel like it comes down to moments like these in the spring that reflect how the season goes,” Kabera stated. “I think the brotherhood that is created will in turn build the team into one big unit.”

He went into detail about what makes Nebraska special.

“I think Nebraska is unique in terms of size and amount of weapons on the team. Nebraska has an amazing campus, great facilities and a stadium. I believe one of the underlying reasons for the success of the team is the quality and size of their facilities. Also, the amount of weapons they have on the team is shocking. They truly get the best of the best athletes all the way down to their bench players. All of these guys were very dominant in high school and highly recruited, and they definitely committed themselves to Nebraska for a reason!”

He has connected with two coaches from the Huskers staff in particular.

“I’ve connected with E.J, Barthel (running backs coach) and Evan Cooper (defensive backs coach). It’s been a great experience because obviously they loved my film and they seem really excited about me and have made efforts to build a relationship, which makes me feel more comfortable talking to them and excited to go check out campus. The thing that the coaches do that impresses me the most is balancing recruiting for the next class and coaching their team at the same time. They truly dedicate themselves to this team but also are planning ahead for the next couple of years, which is amazing.”

“I feel like the Nebraska system is great and it’s working out very well for the next couple of years. Coach Matt Rhule is a great factor in this. He is doing a great job turning this team around and bringing in highly recruited athletes and low recruited athletes that can ball.”

He has an interesting statement when considering Nebraska as a top school.

“Nebraska is definitely a top 3 school in my recruitment. After visiting Minnesota last week and having a Michigan State visit lined up in two weeks, I can confidently say I’m very excited for Nebraska this weekend.”
