No. 16 Notre Dame (7-2) has a chance to build its New Year’s Six Bowl resume as it hosts No. 23 Navy (7-1).
Navy is in the midst of a major turnaround. After going 10-16 the last two seasons, the Midshipmen are 7-1, ranked in the Top 25 and have a chance to win the American Athletic Conference West championship.

The Series
Notre Dame leads the all-time series 76-13-1. The Irish had a 43-game win-streak against the Midshipmen from 1964 to 2006, but the streak was snapped in 2007. Navy won three of four matchups between 2007-10, but Notre Dame has won seven of the last night games.
Last season, Notre Dame defeated Navy 44-22 in a game that was played in San Diego.
The Coaches
Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly is in his 10th season in South Bend. He’s gone 88-36 with the Irish and holds a 259-93-2 overall record in 29 seasons.
Navy head coach Ken Niumatalolo is in his 12th season in Annapolis. He’s compiled a 94-59 record and led Navy to at least eight wins in eight of those seasons.
