Notre Dame Is Building A Connection With Underrated Receiver Branden Hoch

Notre Dame and wide receiver Branden Hoch are working on building a connection

Over the weekend, Notre Dame was host to several big time players in the 2025 and 2026 recruiting classes. One very intriguing player that made the trip was 2025 Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas wide receiver Branden Hoch, who does not currently hold an offer from the Irish but still wanted to make the trip to South Bend.

The Irish staff has been doing their homework on Hoch and has been building a solid relationship. Hoch’s recent visit to Notre Dame was a positive step in his recruitment, getting a deeper appreciation for everything the program brings to the table.

"I had a great time visiting Notre Dame,” Hoch told Irish Breakdown. "My family and I got to see all the History the school offered and we also got to tour around the whole campus. My favorite parts had to be watching practice and seeing how Coach (Marcus) Freeman runs his team.”

The coaches have made Hoch feel very important. He is a player that they value tremendously, and plan on continuing to pursue heavily.

"I had the chance to speak with Coach Freeman and Coach (Mike) Brown,” Hoch said. "Coach Freeman’s message to me was he wanted a reason to get down to South Florida and he told me to keep working hard. Coach Brown message to me was he really liked my film and is excited about the upcoming season. They seem to really value what I can bring to the table.”

It will be interesting to see if an offer is extended to Hoch at some point. Even without it, Notre Dame is a school he is very high on. They are a program he is very much interested in, and one that is high on his list.

"My opinion on Notre Dame is that it's a great school and is one of my top schools at the moment,” Hoch said. "They like my speed on my film and how I’m able to make big plays.”

Hoch is being pursued by an impressive list of notable programs. Some of his top offers right now include Miami, Auburn, Ole Miss, West Virginia and Pittsburgh.

The 6-3, 195-pound pass catcher played for West Boca Raton as a junior, where he made a ton of big plays. In 12 games, Hoch hauled in 22 receptions for 485 yards and nine touchdowns, averaging an impressive 22 yards per reception. Hoch has a chance to really explode on the scene after transferring to St. Thomas Aquinas this offseason.
