ESPN's Desmond Howard Takes Shots At Buckeyes, Archie Griffin

Archie Griffin ran for one final Buckeyes touchdown during the Spring Game on Saturday, and Desmond Howard didn't like his celebration.

Former Michigan Wolverine and current ESPN analyst Desmond Howard was always a trash talker in his playing days. And apparently, old habits die hard.

The 1991 Heisman Trophy winner still takes pot-shots at the Buckeyes too.

The Buckeyes hosted two-time Heisman winner (1974, 1975) Archie Griffin and let him run for one final Buckeyes touchdown during the Spring Game on Saturday. Griffin is still the only two-time winner of the award, and the only player to win back-to-back Heisman Trophies.

In that game, in the Team Scarlet offense versus Team Gray defense format, Team Gray was victorious 40-31, gaining the majority of their points through three-and-out stops.

However, the offense prevailed on five drives, finishing the day with four touchdowns and a field goal.

And after his ceremonial touchdown run, Griffin struck the familiar Heisman pose.

And when Howard ran across this on social media, he had to take the opportunity to remind everyone that he is responsible for the end zone pose.

“Camera guy gave Arch the ball and said, ‘do that thing the Michigan player did,’” Howard wrote in a tweet.

Howard struck the iconic pose after scoring a TD on a punt return against Ohio State back in 1991. He won the Heisman after putting up 985 yards on 62 catches with 19 touchdowns.

And after 30-plus years, he still has a strong dislike for the Buckeyes.

Don't worry, Desmond, the feeling is mutual.
