5 Buckeyes Headline CBS Sports' 2023-24 All-America Team

Ahead of the 2023-24 season, CBS Sports compiled a list of "All-American" talent from across the NCAA, with the Buckeyes leading the nation in total selections.

With college football on the brink of being officially "back," anticipation surrounding the Ohio State Buckeyes is at an all-time high.

Having a squad that's consistently expected to be among the top teams in the country is one thing, but having a squad that consistently meets those expectations is another, and the Buckeyes can say both.

Coach Ryan Day has played a big role in that by consistently bringing in recruits to keep his squad atop the NCAA, most of which do end up impacting Ohio State positively, but some of them end up being even bigger difference-makers, with this season being no exception.

Ahead of the Buckeyes' 2023-24 season kickoff, five players were placed in CBS Sports' All-America team, which highlighted players from across the country at their respective positions: WR Marvin Harrison Jr., DL J.T. Tuimoloau, LB Tommy Eichenberg, WR Emeka Egbuka and OL Donovan Jackson.

The Buckeyes' five selections led all teams represented and if nothing else, gives fans a reason to be excited on all fronts. No, C.J. Stroud will not be returning, but there are plenty of other areas of Ohio State's roster set to make a splash.

Receiver-duo Marvin Harrison Jr. and Emeka Egbuka headline the Buckeyes' selections, as both look to build upon the success they found last year. Combined, the pair went for over 2,400 yards and 24 touchdowns, giving whoever the Buckeyes' starter ends up being two solid options downfield.

Rising senior Tommy Eichenberg is also likely to play a big role next season after finishing in the top-5 of solo tackles across the NCAA while giving quarterbacks nightmares in the process.

Rounding out Ohio State's selections is a pair of lineman on both sides of the ball, both of whom have made their presence felt thus far. On offense, Jackson will provide leadership and experience to a unit that absolutely needs it — especially given the new quarterback situation.

On defense, Tuimoloau racked up 28 total tackles and 3.5 sacks, which was already more than his pervious year. If he continues on that trajectory — like his All-America selection — the Buckeyes will be able to look to him on the line.

All in all, the Buckeyes' five selections show that not only is the team set to be led by a strong group of players, but the talent level extends beyond just one position group. And if Day continues to recruit well, it could stay that way for years to come.
