Ohio State Missed On Bronny James, Can They Get LeBron's Youngest Son?

LeBron James never played for the Ohio State Buckeyes and Bronny James likely won't either, but Bryce James could.

The Ohio State Buckeyes were among the final three in class of 2023 combo guard Bronny James' recruitment.

However, they lost the battle to USC, as James announced his commitment to the Trojans May 6. He isn't the last in Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James' lineage, though, as his youngest son, Bryce James, is a class of 2025 prospect, and Ohio State could be in the mix.

Bovada released betting lines on the James family hoopers, setting the over/under on Bronny James' freshman season scoring average at 9.5 points per game and posting odds on where Bryce James will commit to.

The Buckeyes come in tied with the Kentucky Wildcats and Kansas Jayhawks for the second-to-worst odds at +1500.

Bovada's oddsmakers have USC as the odds-on favorite at -180, as they likely think Bryce James will follow in his older brother's footsteps and stay home in Los Angeles. Other schools offered by the sportsbook to land Bryce James are, in order from most to least likely: Oregon, UCLA, North Carolina, Duke and Duquesne — the only program to have extended an offer to him so far.

According to On3, the 6-2, 160-pound four-star recruit is No. 73 in the class of 2025, the 19th-best shooting guard, and the eighth-best player in California.
