Former Ohio State Buckeyes head coach Urban Meyer is no stranger to grabbing a controversial headline.

And on Monday, Meyer was in the news again. This time, for his purported insults of now Cincinnati Bengals star quarterback Joe Burrow during his time at Ohio State.

According to the reports, during a film session in Columbus, Meyer was unhappy with the way that Burrow was performing on the field, and proceeded to tell him that he was a "D2 quarterback", and that "you throw like a girl."

This was not an aberration for Meyer either, apparently, who according to one of his former assistants, would consistently poke and prod players, including Burrow, and welcomed them to transfer if they couldn't handle the pressure of being at Ohio State.

"He would get personal," the former assistant said. "Joe Burrow would throw an interception and he'd be like 'Wow call your dad, maybe they'll take you at Ohio U'. Like he'd bring your family into it. This man was an (expletive), but it was all calculated. He didn't care. He was trying to make Joe Burrow a great player."

Burrow, of course, would eventually transfer to LSU, where he would lead what many consider to be the best college football team of all time to a national title, before being the selected No. 1 overall by the Bengals in the NFL Draft.

And since being in Cincinnati, Burrow has quickly developed into arguably a top-3 NFL quarterback.
