Another day, another commitment.

Porter Moser has had a busy week in the transfer portal, and ended it Saturday by adding another talented player to the mix. Former Oregon guard Rivaldo Soares pledged his allegiance to the Sooners just hours after the football Spring Game concluded.

The 6-foot-6 combo guard joins Javian McCollum and John Hugley as impact players through the portal.

Soares, a senior from Boston, averaged 7.2 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.8 assists for the Ducks a season ago. He spent two seasons in Eugene and started 34 total games, while appearing in 70.

Soares joined Oregon after being named an NJCAA first-team All-American and the Western Junior College Athletic Conference player of the year. He averaged 15.2 points and 6.8 rebounds while reaching double-figures in 17 of 20 games.

With four years of collegiate experience under his belt, Soares brings much-needed veteran leadership to a young team full of talented underclassmen. His big game experience will be invaluable for Moser's squad down the stretch, especially after losing a vocal leader in Tanner Groves.

The Oklahoma basketball team will look nearly unrecognizable next fall after a massive roster overhaul. McCollum, Hugley, and now Soares, should help the Sooners battle for a tournament bid in the team's last season as a member of the Big 12.
