Oklahoma may be one of the nation’s most prolific 3-point shooting teams, but the Sooners did most of their damage in the paint this time.

OU went inside early and heated up from outside late as the Sooners routed Kansas State 85-68 Sunday at Bramlage Coliseum.

No. 16-ranked OU won its fourth straight game to improve to 20-4 overall and 10-3 in Big 12 play, while Kansas State fell to 14-11 and 3-12. The Sooners moved within one game of first-place Texas in the Big 12 standings.

The Sooners led by as many as 32 in the second half as Aubrey Jones dropped three 3-pointers and poured in eight unanswered points in a quick third-quarter stretch, finishing with her best conference scoring output (11 points) since transferring from Iowa State.

Liz Scott led the Sooners with a season-high 20 points on 8-of-13 shooting. Madi Williams scored 16 on 8-of-10 shooting, and Ana Llanusa scored 10.

The Sooners finished 5-of-11 from 3-point range in the second half and finished 16-of-28 from the floor after halftime.

OU leads the Big 12 at more than nine 3-pointers per game, but made just 2-of-10 in the first half.

Still, Oklahoma took control in the second quarter with a 15-1 run. The Wildcats went more than four minutes without a point as OU built a 33-19 lead.

Leading scorer Madi Williams sat much of the first half with foul trouble, and sharpshooter Taylor Robertson didn’t even put up a field goal attempt in the first half. Robertson finished with seven points.

It was Robertson's 141st career start, putting her past Danielle Robinson for the most in program history. Robertson also hit one 3 to extend her streak to 66 games in a row with a made 3-pointer.

But Scott scored 12 points in the first half on 6-of-8 shooting, and OU built a 41-25 halftime lead and outscored K-State 30-4 in the paint.

Former Sooner Gabby Gregory led the Wildcats early with eight of K-State’s first 19 points. She had 10 at halftime and finished with 24.

OU faces Texas Tech (16-9, 4-8 Big 12) on Wednesday night in Norman. Tipoff is scheduled for 6.
