Just after picking up their first Big 12 basketball win of the season, the Oklahoma State Cowboys had to make a tough trip to Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence. Playing the Kansas Jayhawks anywhere is a tough task, but doing so on their home floor with their fanbase behind them makes things much more difficult.

While the Jayhawks were without their leading scorer in Kevin McCullar Jr., they seemed to be just fine without him. Kansas downed Oklahoma State 83-54 to finish the regular season series 2-0 in two blowout wins.

Just past the under-12 media timeout, the Jayhawks had already built a double-digit lead, and they wouldn't look back from there.

Once holding a 21-15 lead, the Jayhawks built a 35-18 lead after a 14-3 run. Again, with their home crowd behind them, the No. 8 team in the country was simply too much for Oklahoma State, who rests at the bottom of the Big 12 basketball standings.

The Jayhawks led 44-26 at halftime and the game essentially felt over from there. Finishing with 83 points, Kansas saw each of the team's five starters achieve double-digit scoring as the team shot 57.6 percent from the field.

It was quite a different story for Oklahoma State, who shot 29.3 percent from the field and had just two scorers in double-figures. Freshman center Brandon Garrison had 11 points alongside his five rebounds and two blocks.

John-Michael Wright scored 16 points to lead the Cowboys while also surpassing the 2,000 points mark in his collegiate career.

This game certainly didn't favor Oklahoma State, but they weren't competitive at all. While being unable to get stops, they also couldn't score, leaving no positives from this game.

While playing a top-ten team is never easy, the Cowboys are playing in the toughest basketball conference in college basketball with a roster talented enough to compete, so they've simply got to find a way to put together more complete games.
