Oklahoma State looked poised for its best win of the season but could not close the game.

OSU lost to Oklahoma 66-62 to remain winless in road games this season. After sweeping OU last season, OSU could not start the series with a win in 2024.

Quion Williams drove and finished to make it a one-point game again with 13.9 seconds left. After Javian McCollum put OU back up three, Javon Small lost the ball on a drive to seal the game.

Le’Tre Darthard’s 3-pointer gave the Sooners the lead with 3:09 left, and they never trailed again. As part of a 9-0 run, the Sooners took control and held off the Cowboys for an important win.

OSU reversed its normal fate this season, holding OU without a field goal for more than four minutes in a critical part of the second half to take a four-point lead. However, Jalon Moore’s 3-pointer before the final media timeout ended his team’s drought and put OU in a good position.

Although Bedlam was a major talking point throughout the football season, the basketball rivalry will also see the impact of the Sooners moving to the SEC. Saturday’s matchup marked the final scheduled game between the teams in Norman, with a final matchup in Stillwater slated for later this month.

A smooth drive and finish by Williams helped OSU regain the lead with just more than six minutes left. It was one of the buckets that kept the battle in the paint close, an area OSU has struggled in all season.

Although Small and John-Michael Wright struggled to shoot, they still led OSU in scoring because of their ability to get to the free throw line.

In the first half, OSU struggled to get any offense through the first 16 minutes but came alive late. Small and Wright combined for 11 points toward the end of the half to make it 31-26 in favor of OU at halftime.

The Cowboys continued to play well offensively to begin the second half and took their first lead since the opening minutes. Jamyron Keller’s layup put them in the lead, which they extended to four at the beginning of the second half.
