The Steve Lutz era is underway in Stillwater. Oklahoma State has it's 21st basketball head coach in program history. Now, he has the rest of the transfer portal window -- which closes on May 1 -- to reconstruct the roster and fill things out before this fall.

It seems as if Lutz has wasted no time. He's got plenty of decisions to make. Which players to retain, who wants to stay and even what his support staff looks like. Still, the Cowboys have reportedly reached out to Illinois State grad transfer Myles Foster, according to 247Sports' Jamie Shaw.

The Cowboys are a part of a long list of programs that have reached out to Foster. While Oklahoma State is a program that stands out, other high-major programs like Iowa, Florida, Arizona State and BYU along with programs like Xavier and DePaul have all reached out.

Lutz is going to have to win some battles in the portal, and it certainly won't be easy. Landing a player like Foster out of the portal would be a great start for him during his inaugural season in Stillwater.

Foster is going to be a fifth-year senior next season. He averaged 12.4 points and 8.1 rebounds per game for Illinois State last season. Before then, he spent three seasons with Monmouth. He's been efficient from the field despite not shooting from beyond the arc.

A wing with incredible size, Foster is a 6-foot-7, 230 pound forward that has a unique playstyle, but his experience would be invaluable in the first season of the Cowboys' new era. Lutz could benefit from his age and to kickstart the first of a wave of incoming players from the portal.

It'll be intruiging to watch the rest of the month play out for Lutz and Oklahoma State, as there will be plenty of moves made all around. Stay up to date with All Pokes to stay informed on all things Oklahoma State basketball.
