The Oklahoma State basketball roster could see a lot of change under the leadership of Steve Lutz.

Where does the Oklahoma State basketball program stand currently? Well, they finally have their head coach -- which took a two week search -- though Steve Lutz seems to be the right guy for the job.

Considering the reports coming out about the search and how things looked to be heading in Stillwater, having Lutz lead teh program is a positive. Still, with a head coaching change at the college level comes plenty of change.

On top of being right in the middle of college basketball transfer portal madness, which has impacted the Cowboys' roster, Lutz has to build out a support staff for his program. So, where's the Oklahoma State basketball roster stand now?

There's currently five guys under scholarship ahead of next season:

Bryce Thompson

Justin McBride

Jamyron Keller

Jeremiah Johnson

Connor Dow

That's it. Even with incoming freshman Jeremiah Johnson, there's just five Cowboys on roster for next season. Lutz is going to have to get busy this offseason. The transfer portal window closes May 1 and there are four players with reported interest from Oklahoma State.

Here's a list of players who have reported interest from the Cowboys:

Jamarii Thomas, guard (Norfolk State)

Kolby King, guard (Tulane)

Micah Peavy, forward (TCU)

Toby Okani, forward (UIC)

The loss of freshman Eric Dailey and Brandon Garrison -- two players who can play the big man position -- are substantial blows to the roster. The two young talents are going to be big additions to the programs that land them.

There's not even a big hole that needs filled for the Cowboys. It's the entire roster from top to bottom. Of course, they're more secure at the guard and wing positions with their current players on scholarship. Still, with a new head coach and new era underway, a roster overhaul makes sense and the Cowboys might finally be able to play consistent competitive basketball once again.
