It's been a weird week for Oklahoma State's basketball program. The Cowboys are having a losing season once again, and they're bottom-table in the juggernaut of a conference that is the Big 12. Mike Boynton continues to find consistent success despite continually winning on the recruiting trail.

The Cowboys hosted the BYU Cougars on Saturday, which comes just a couple of days after Boynton sounded off on the program's NIL issues. Whatever happened in between his rant and the game must have worked, though, because the Cowboys defeated the No. 19-ranked Cougars 93-83.

Freshman guard Jamyron Keller got his first career start after having offered consistently good minutes off the bench so far this season. He scored 13 first-half points on 5-of-5 shooting to help the Cowboys to a 49-35 lead at the break.

Overall, the team shot 8-of-14 on 3-pointers at the break, adding 61.3 percent efficiency from the field. To add to Keller's 13 first-half points, John-Michael Wright scored 11 points on 4-of-6 shooting.

The Cowboys were able to maintain a sizable lead for most of the game, but BYU never waved the white flag. With under two minutes left in the game, the Cougars trimmed their deficit to under ten points. Of course, they were playing the foul game, which saw the Cowboys quickly get their double-digit lead back.

Eventually, the time ran out and the Cowboys ended the game with an upset win. The first game with Keller in the starting lineup proved to be successful. Not only did he finish with 22 points on 8-of-8 shooting, including 4-of-4 from beyond the arc, but he relieved pressure from Javon Small as the primary ball handler offensively.

Keller also added five rebounds, two assists and two steals, proving that he's impactful in just about every facet as a starter.

All five starters scored in double-figures for Oklahoma State as their balanced attack helped them take down a top-20 program in the country.
