Sunday afternoon, Oklahoma State was one of four schools that made what should be the final cut before five-star Bryce Thompson announces his commitment, which could come in the next few weeks.

The four schools to make the cut are Oklahoma State, Kansas, North Carolina and Oklahoma. Thompson has taken his official visits to OSU, UNC and KU just within the past few months, with his OU official taking place back on May 14 of this year.

Thompson teamed up with the Tulsa World on Sunday to explain the decision in his own words. This is becoming a very popular method among recruits these days.

"It's been a blessing to go through the recruiting process and be able to do it with my family," said Thompson. "It's been a good process. I've been able to speak to some legendary coaches and I definitely don't take that for granted. It's been a great process."

The fifth school that Thompson took an official visit to, Michigan State, was left off the list as many national recruiting analysts have suggested.

I had mentioned above that Thompson's commitment could take place as early as the next few weeks. That's because the November signing period, or the early signing period, takes place from Nov. 13-20.

With him seemingly expediting his recruiting process, taking all his official visits and cutting his list to a final four a few weeks before the early signing period, I would expect a commitment in the new few weeks.

Just like with Rondel Walker and Cade Cunningham, Oklahoma State was Bryce Thompson's first offer and Mike Boynton and Co. have kept close ties with Thomson ever since.

"Oklahoma State has been there since day one," said Thompson. "They've approached me and made sure that I'm a priority to them. Coach [Mike] Boynton is a great coach. He texts me almost every day and gives me stats about OSU and why I should go there. He's a great coach I had a great visit up there with the guys. I know two of the players that I used to play with are up there, Keylan and Kalib Boone, who played at Memorial High School. That's obviously a plus. It's close to home, too. You can't beat it."

Thompson has been a fast-riser in the recruiting rankings over the past several months as he checks in as the No. 19 overall national recruit in the 247Sports Composite. He's also the No. 4 combo guard, the No. 1 overall prospect out of Oklahoma.
