Chuba Hubbard Named Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week After K-State Performance

STILLWATER -- Running back Chuba Hubbard earned his second Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week honor after his record-setting performance last week against No. 24 Kansas State.
The honor marks Oklahoma State's fourth weekly conference honor of the season.
Hubbard posted the nation's No. 1 rushing performance of the season on Saturday 296 yards. He also posted one touchdown. His 296 yards not only marked the No. 1 FBS rushing performance of the season, but the No. 2 and No. 6 single game total.
He also set an OSU record for rushing yards against a ranked opponent and surpassed both Barry Sanders (222) and Thurman Thomas (237).
Hubbard averaged 11.8 yards per carry this past Saturday and his yardage marked the sixth-best total in school history and the most since David Thompson rushed for 321 yards in 1996.
Hubbard also became the first Cowboy to ever rush for 200-plus yards three times in the first five games of the season and is just the seventh player to accomplish the feat since 2000 and the first since LSU's Leonard Fournette in 2015.
Hubbard also leads the nation in 50 or more yard rushes bringing his total up to four with an 84-yard touchdown run and a 53-yard rush against Kansas State.
According to Oklahoma State Athletics Media Relations, Hubbard leads the nation in nearly every statistical category after the first five games, including rushing yards, rushing yards per game, rushing touchdowns, all-purpose yards, yards after contact (via Pro Football Focus), yards per game (min 70) and rushing plays of at least 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70 and 80 yards.
