It has been a stellar start to the season for Oklahoma State.

Kenny Gajewski and his crew are off to a 26-5 start, including 7-2 in conference play and 9-0 at Cowgirl Stadium in Stillwater.

Both the pitching staff and the offense have been firing on all cylinders, but who are some of the players that have been bright spots so far this season?

Ivy Rosenberry

Nobody else has had a bigger jump between two seasons than OSU pitcher Ivy Rosenberry. The senior has been on fire to start the season, posting a 1.04 ERA, compared to a 2.65 ERA at the end of last season.

Her ERA this season puts her at No. 2 in the conference behind another Cowgirl pitcher, Lexi Kilfoyl.

Rosenberry has given up only eight runs in 47 1/3 innings pitched this season along with 44 strikeouts. She has pitched herself into the rotation in the conference series, and she is looking to continue her momentum through the rest of the season.

Caroline Wang

With Caroline Wang being a transfer, Gajewski said he didn’t know what to expect from the transfer from Liberty this season.

All Wang has done this season is produce. Her nine home runs lead the team so far this season, and she has collected 24 RBIs.

Wang is fourth on the team in hitting as she is hitting .362 on the season so far, which puts her at No. 39 in the conference.

The three-game series OSU has this week will be a big one as Oklahoma State takes on Texas, with the series beginning on Thursday at 6 p.m. CT at Cowgirl Stadium. Wang will have to bring her best and then some against the Longhorns.

Karli Godwin

Another player who has had a major jump from last season is Karli Godwin. The freshman has 28 RBIs on the season, which is tops on the team so far this season.

When talking with players before the season started, Godwin’s name was brought up the most \ about being a player who could shine this season. If OSU wants to make a run to the WCWS, Godwin will have to continue her stellar play.
