Oklahoma State came out on top this weekend in conference play.

The Cowgirls went up to Provo, Utah, taking on BYU in a three-game slate, and they came out of the series taking two of the three games.

With the series victory, OSU improves to 26-5 on the season, including 7-2 in conference play.

Thursday: 3-2 Win Over BYU

Lexi Kilfoyl pitched a gem on Thursday as Oklahoma State took game one of the series on Thursday at BYU.

The senior pitcher got the start in the circle, and she delivered, giving up only two runs on four hits, one walk and eight strikeouts in seven innings pitched.

Karli Godwin got OSU’s offense going in the first inning, launching a two-run bomb and putting the Cowgirls up 2-0 early in the contest. Haidyn Sokolowski added to the lead in the fourth, reaching on a fielder’s choice, which led to Caroline Wang scoring and increasing the lead to 3-0.

BYU would get a run back in the bottom half of the fourth, but it was one of the more unconventional ways to collect a run.

Lily Owens stole home after BYU’s Huntyr Ava got caught in a rundown between first and second, but it got BYU on the board and made it 3-1.

The Cougars would get one more in the sixth, but Kilfoyl tamed the offense in the seventh, securing the victory.

Friday: 11-8 Loss to BYU

Friday’s contest wasn’t the outcome OSU was looking for, suffering a loss to the Cougars in game two of the series.

BYU’s offense started out hot, scoring 10 runs in the first three innings, compared to the Cowgirls scoring only two runs. Kyra Aycock got the start, and she wasn’t her usual self, giving up six runs on eight hits, two walks and two strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings pitched.

Katie Kutz would come in for Aycock in the third, and she would give up five runs in the inning, leading to Aycock coming back in for the rest of the contest. Kutz gave up five runs on four hits with one walk in 0.2 innings pitched.

After BYU had a 10-2 lead going into the fourth inning, OSU put up three runs in the fourth, including solo home runs from Wang and Taylor Anderson to cut the lead to 10-5. Wang would do more damage in the fifth inning, hitting another solo home run over the wall in left field, making it 10-6.

BYU’s Kate Dahle would shut down OSU after that, giving up only two runs in the final three innings and helping the Cougars take the victory.

Saturday: 10-2 Win Over BYU (F/6)

The Cowgirls ended the series with a bang, taking home the run-rule victory over the Cougars and securing the series.

Ivy Rosenberry got the nod for OSU, and she continued her hot streak, giving up only two runs on two hits and two walks in four innings pitched.

Kilfoyl came in the fifth and shut the door, giving up zero runs on zero hits, one walk and one strikeout in two innings of work. Tallen Edwards was the star of the show on offense for the Cowgirls. She went 3 for 4 with five RBIs in the rubber match against BYU.

Wang collected home run No. 9 on the season on Saturday, hitting a two-run blast over the wall in right field and making it 3-0.

OSU would plate seven runs in the final five innings, taking home the series against BYU.

Oklahoma State returns home for four games this week, including a three-game slate with Texas, with the first game on Thursday at 6 p.m. CT at Cowgirl Stadium. The contest will be streamed on ESPN+.
