Preview, How to Watch, Listen: Ole Miss Hosts Alcorn State in Midweek Action
OXFORD, Miss. -- After just missing out on their first conference series victory, the Ole Miss Rebels baseball team is set to host the Alcorn State Braves for some midweek action at Swayze Field on Wednesday night.
Ole Miss is coming off a 2-1 series loss to the Arkansas Razorbacks and currently owns an 18-13 overall record with a poor 2-10 record versus SEC opponents. The Rebels also blew a late lead on Tuesday night and fell to the Memphis Tigers 11-9 at home.
The Rebels trailed 6-1 at the end of the third inning, but by the end of the fifth, they had tied the game at six. Ole Miss' 9-7 lead came about in the bottom of the seventh inning, but a flurry of three Tiger home runs in the top of the ninth gave Memphis the win, continuing the skid for Mike Bianco's team this season.
Ole Miss will look to gain momentum in this midweek matchup for when it takes on its hated in-state rival this weekend, the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
