Ex-Ole Miss Receiver Donte Moncrief Announces Retirement

OXFORD, Miss. -- Former Ole Miss Rebel Donte Moncrief took to social media on Saturday to formally announce his retirement from playing football.
The 29-year-old receiver has not played a down in the National Football League since the 2020 COVID-19 season when he was signed to the New England Patriots, appearing in just six games.
Moncrief posted this message on Twitter letting fans know his football career is officially done.
Thanks to everyone who supported me through out my football career. It was an honor to represent Mississippi the right way. @OleMissFB will forever have a place in my heart. 2014 @Colts gave a kid a chance and im so thankful.. im so thankful for every up and down moment.#10OUT

Moncrief spent 2011-13 with Ole Miss, recording 156 receptions, 2,731 receiving yards, and 20 touchdowns. The Raleigh, Miss., native finished his collegiate career with the sixth most receiving yards in program history.
The former Rebel was later drafted in the third round of the 2014 NFL Draft by the Indianapolis Colts. Moncrief appeared in 83 games in his NFL career, hauling in 205 receptions, 2,576 receiving yards, and 21 touchdowns.
