The race to land 2024 three-star cornerback Patrick Broomfield has come to an end. While the favorites were largely considered to be Mississippi State, Ole Miss, and LSU, the Clarksdale, Mississippi native announced his decision to take his talents to the Rebels on Saturday.

"First and foremost, I want to give honor to God, who is the head of my life. Secondly, to my family, coaches, and friends," Broomfield noted on social media. "I want to say thank you for supporting me during this long, but yet exciting journey. At the end of every chapter in a person's life, there's a crossroad. Well, my high school chapter is coming to an end and I'm at a new crossroad and I'm excited for this new chapter, that is yet to come in my life.

"I feel so many different emotions right now, the biggest of all is excitement, and overwhelming amount of joy and excitement to be honest. With that being said, I'm committing to the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss). #HotToddy"

The 6-2, 160-pound corner most recently visited LSU in early April, and a strong bond was said to have been forged. But ultimately, Broomfield was lured by the appeal of Ole Miss defensive coordinator Pete Golding's scheme and head coach Lane Kiffin's leadership.

The Rebels extended their offer to Broomfield earlier than most of the front-runners, back in January. Most recently, the cornerback was offered by Mississippi State on Feb. 22, LSU on March 9, and Arkansas on April 15.

As a junior at Clarksdale (MS) High School, Broomfield helped his team to a 10-2 record while registering over 60 tackles, 11 pass breakups, and three interceptions, including one pick-6.

He'll need to beef up his 160-pound frame for the next level, but he shows an impressive 4.5 40-speed. Broomfield is just as serious in the classroom as he is on the field, maintaining a 3.7 grade point average.
