Rebels Ranked Among College Football Elite In Way-Too-Early 2024 Predictions
OXFORD, Miss. -- The 2023-24 college football season has not even been over for a day, but it is never too early to think about next season - especially if you are a fan of the Ole Miss Rebels.
Since the regular season ended, the Rebels have hounded the NCAA Transfer Portal and have locked up multiple seniors for one last ride in 2024. With the program in win-now mode, multiple outlets are taking notice of what is being assembled in Oxford and have rated Ole Miss among the elite of college football in multiple way-too-early rankings. The new season does not start until August, but it is never too early to start predicting the Top 25.
CBS ranked the Rebels at No. 5 while ESPN slotted Ole Miss in at No. 7 in the nation entering 2024. Pro Football Focus also granted Ole Miss the No. 5 spot in its rankings.

"What was Quinshon Judkins thinking by entering the portal?" CBS writes. "The warm embrace of Oxford, Mississippi, and the Lane Train would have made him a Heisman Trophy contender. Now? Well, good luck with NIL riches, kid. Kiffin has plenty of running back depth even after making Judkins a star."
The Rebels are still highly favored despite the recent loss of sophomore tailback Quinshon Judkins, as many are confident that Kiffin's offensive scheme will overcome his departure. As of right now, senior Ulysses Bentley IV, freshman Kedrick Reescano, and sophomore Matt Jones make up Ole Miss' running back room, and more depth is likely on the way via the portal.
