Rebels' Caden Prieskorn Listed As Top 10 Returning TE For 2024 Season

The Ole Miss Rebels might have a perfect trifecta in the SEC with the return of Jaxson Dart, Tre Harris and now Caden Prieskorn

Jaxson Dart and Tre Harris are set for another breakout season at Ole Miss. Could another weapon become a household name in the SEC by the season's end?

According to Pro Football Focus, Caden Prieskorn is already at that level.

PFF listed the junior pass-catcher as the No. 7 returning tight end of the 2024 season. Prieskorn, who joined the Rebels from Memphis, finished the season on a high note with 10 catches for 136 yards and two touchdowns against Penn State in the Peach Bowl.

Prieskorn missed the first three games of the 2023 season due to a knee injury. Once he returned, the Memphis transfer showed why he was so highly coveted in the portal. From Week 4 on, Prieskorn’s 449 receiving yards were the ninth-most among all tight ends in the country. Since 2022, his 1,051 receiving yards and 527 yards after the catch are each fourth among FBS tight ends. - PFF

Harris and Dart both were listed by PFF as top 10 returning talents at receiver and quarterback, respectively. With the addition of Juice Wells and the return of Jordan Watkins, the Rebels have a four-person tandem that could create problems in coverage for defensive coordinators.

Prieskorn has averaged at least 11.5 yards per reception since his freshman season. In 2022, he hauled in a career-high seven touchdowns, but he also played 12 games during the AAC schedule.

Even before the Peach Bowl, Prieskorn gave Rebels across the country something to bank on for his future. In the Egg Bowl, his 26-yard touchdown reception in the fourth quarter sealed a 10-win regular season for the second time in program history and a 17-7 victory to close out the campaign.

Prieskorn also hauled in a touchdown reception the week prior in Ole Miss' home finale against Louisiana-Monroe.

Michigan standout Colston Loveland graded out as the top returnee following his national championship-winning season in Ann Arbor. Note Dame's Mitchell Evans (No. 2), Utah's Brant Kuithe (No. 3), Georgia's Ben Yurosek (No. 4) and North Carolina's Bryson Nesbit (No. 5) rounded out the top five.

Yurosek, who's set to be a vital piece of Georgia's passing game, is a newcomer from Stanford and the only other SEC tight end listed. From a veteran standpoint in the conference, Prieskorn is the top returning talent with SEC experience.

Syracuse's Ondre Gadsden (No. 6), Michigan State's Jack Velling (No. 8), Texas Tech's Jaylin Conyers (No. 9), and Iowa's Luke Lachey ( No. 10) rounded out the list.

The Rebels open the season at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium on Aug. 31 against Furman.
