Ole Miss OC Charlie Weis Jr. Ranks Among Highest-Paid Offensive Assistants

Ole Miss Rebels offensive coordinator Charlie Weis Jr. was listed among the Top-20 highest-paid assistants in college football.

OXFORD, Miss. -- The Ole Miss Rebels received a lot of buzz this offseason after bringing in former Alabama Crimson Tide defensive coordinator Pete Golding, but do not forget about their offensive coordinator, Charlie Weis Jr.

In his first season as co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach, the Rebels recorded the third-most total yards (6,453) and the No. 1 rushing attack in the Southeastern Conference last fall. Weis was put in charge of calling plays as the youngest coordinator in the SEC at age 29.

Football Scoop organized the highest-paid offensive assistants in college football entering the 2023 season and revealed the lists on Monday. Weis Jr. was ranked among the top 20 highest-paid assistants in the nation.

2. Jeff Lebby, Oklahoma: $1.9 million

Tommy Rees, Alabama: $1.9 million

4. Garrett Riley, Clemson: $1.75 million

5. Liam Coen, Kentucky: $1.7 million

6. Kirk Ciarrocca, Rutgers: $1.4 million

Marcus Satterfield, Nebraska: $1.4 million

8. Jay Johnson, Michigan State: $1.35 million

9. Phil Longo, Wisconsin: $1.25 million

Andy Ludwig, Utah: $1.25 million

11. Dan Enos, Arkansas: $1.1 million

12. Dowell Loggains, South Carolina: $1 million

Rob Sale, Florida: $1 million

14. Zach Kittley, Texas Tech: $855,000

15. Tyler Bowen, Virginia Tech: $850,000

Brian Ferentz, Iowa: $850,000

Joey Halzle, Tennessee: $850,000

Kirby Moore, Missouri: $850,000

19. Charlie Weis, Jr., Ole Miss: $825,000

Weis Jr. is ranked as the 19th highest-paid OC/quarterbacks coach entering next season and is one of eight SEC coordinators in the upper echelon of college football assistant salaries.
