Ole Miss Rebels DL Joshua Harris Announces Intent to Enter Transfer Portal

The Ole Miss Rebels are losing a member of their trenches on the defensive side of the ball.

Ole Miss Rebels defensive lineman Joshua Harris has announced his intention to enter the transfer portal, making the move public on social media on Friday.

Harris played one season with the Rebels after transferring in from NC State prior to the 2023 campaign. His one year in Oxford saw him accumulate 13 total tackles, four of which were solo. Measuring in at 6-foot-4 and 325 pounds, his departure means a loss of some significant size along the defensive front.

"I want to thank the Ole Miss football program for helping me get to the point that I am at now, for believing in me and pouring into my athletic abilities," Harris said in his post. "I am truly grateful."

Harris' departure, however, isn't the end of the world for Ole Miss. The defensive line is a group that was addressed heavily in the transfer portal this offseason, adding the likes of Walter Nolen (Texas A&M). JJ Pegues also returns at an interior lineman position in what will mark his third season in an Ole Miss uniform.

Harris will have one year of collegiate eligibility remaining at his next school.
