Ole Miss Rebels, LSU Tigers Have to Get Back to Halloween - Locked On Ole Miss Podcast
Today's Locked On Ole Miss Podcast discusses how the abhorrent scheduling of the SEC in 1991 got worse in 2012.
But now when the Texas Longhorns and Oklahoma Sooners come into the league in 2024, the chance exists to fix this wrong. A lot of it will depend on the Alabama Crimson Tide, but with Auburn Tigers and Tennessee Volunteers being must-schedule teams, the LSU Tigers may drop that game from the schedule.
It would provide a perfect opportunity for the Rebels and Tigers to move back to the traditional Halloween slot.
In the second segment of the show, we talk about Marquel Blackwell returning home to take a job with the Texas A&M Aggies. I don't necessarily think anything sinister is going on and just think Ole Miss hired the former Houston Cougar coach for Zach Evans, and after he departed for the draft, he returned to the area. The replacement coach becomes the priority.
In our final segment of the day, we analyze what Ole Miss needs to do about men's basketball on their campus moving forward. We also discuss what is likely the last few home games of the Kermit Davis tenure in Oxford. We discuss Will Wade and a previous interview with Jason Jordan about what Ole Miss might do.
