How Did the Ole Miss Rebels, Quinshon Judkins 'Let Go' of the Georgia Bulldogs Loss?

Ole Miss Rebels running back Quinshon Judkins was made available to the media on Tuesday and discussed his team's attitude after a disappointing game on Saturday.

The Ole Miss Rebels were embarrassed on the road in Athens, Ga., on Saturday by the Georgia Bulldogs, but there is still a lot left to play for in Oxford, even if a College Football Playoff berth is off the table.

For the second time in three years, Ole Miss has a chance to finish the regular season with 10 wins, a feat that had never been accomplished prior to the 2021 season. That emphasis from head coach Lane Kiffin has helped players turn the page from the blowout loss on Saturday and shift their focus to the final two games on the schedule: the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks and Mississippi State Bulldogs.

"As far as how the game went Saturday, I think everyone has let it go and has tried to better themselves coming into this week," Ole Miss running back Quinshon Judkins said on Tuesday. "I think what Coach Kiffin has explained to the team is definitely a big point. We can make history and do something that's never been done before here."

After Ole Miss takes on ULM at home this Saturday in its senior recognition game, the Rebels have a quick turnaround to prepare for the annual Egg Bowl against Mississippi State on Thanksgiving night in Starkville. Judkins, a true sophomore at Ole Miss, learned a lot last year about quick turnarounds towards the end of the season.

"Honestly, you don't have that much time to prepare," Judkins said. "Everything's kind of rushed. You have a short-term memory in terms of what you've done this week. This team may be different as far as scheme, so you have to go in and prepare a lot faster."

Judkins himself has made the most of his opportunities this season at Ole Miss, being named as a finalist for the Conerly Trophy for a second straight year, an award given annually to the top college football player in the state of Mississippi.

"Definitely an honor to be nominated as the best player in Mississippi," Judkins said. "That's what I came to Ole Miss for, to be the best player I can be in the country. I'm just grateful for God and everyone around me who has helped me get to this point."

Judkins and the Rebels are scheduled to kick off against ULM at 11 a.m. CT on Saturday at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, and the game will be televised on SEC Network.
