Ole Miss Senior Analyst Michael Nysewander Hired by Jacksonville State

OXFORD, Miss. -- Ole Miss Rebels senior analyst Michael Nysewander is officially moving up the totem pole after being hired as the new tight ends coach of the Jacksonville State Gamecocks last Friday. Nysewander joins the Jacksonville State staff after spending the last three seasons with the Rebels and Lane Kiffin. Kiffin has been a mentor figure for Nysewander for nearly 10 years now, beginning when the two shared the field with the Alabama Crimson Tide from 2014-16.

Kiffin, the Alabama offensive coordinator at the time, developed a relationship with Nysewander who primarily played tight end on special teams but would later help pave the way for running back Derrick Henry, en route to winning the 2015 national championship. Nysewander would later become the running backs coach for the Samford Bulldogs for a brief time before joining Kiffin's staff with the FAU Owls in 2017. Nysewander then followed Kiffin to Ole Miss in 2020 and has been there ever since.

Nysewander took to social media after the news was made official to thank his close friend.

Kiffin also made sure to congratulate his longtime friend.

As a senior analyst for Ole Miss, Nysewander got the opportunity to coach the blue team during the 2023 Grove Bowl.
