Ole Miss Holds Slim Lead Over Penn State at Halftime of Peach Bowl

The Ole Miss Rebels head to the locker room holding a three-point advantage over the Penn State Nittany Lions in Atlanta.

The No. 11 Ole Miss Rebels hold a 20-17 lead over the No. 10 Penn State Nittany Lions at halftime of the 2023 Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl after a back-and-forth first half.

The Rebels started shakily on their first offensive possession, going three-and-out and giving way to a long drive from Penn State that ended in a field goal. Ole Miss would respond with a field goal of its own, and it went up 10-3 at the end of the first quarter after a trick play eventually set up a scoring connection between quarterback Jaxson Dart and tight end Caden Prieskorn.

The Nittany Lions responded quickly after a miraculous tip-drill reception gave them a goal-to-go situation that resulted in a fourth and goal conversion to tie the game at 10.

Ole Miss struck again on the following possession with another Caden Davis field goal, and it would later see another scoring pass from Dart to Prieskorn to extend the advantage to 20-10. Second team quarterback Beau Pribula would then throw a passing score to Nicholas Singleton to cut the score to 20-17 before halftime.

At the intermission, Dart has gone 14-of-23 through the air for 224 yards and two scores, and Quinshon Judkins leads the Rebels in rushing with just 42 yards.

In the receiving department for the Rebels, Caden Prieskorn (96) and Tre Harris (82) lead the team in receiving yardage at halftime.

Ole Miss won the coin toss prior to the game and elected to receive, so the Nittany Lions will get the football to start the second half of play. You can keep up with live updates from Atlanta here.
