What Does WR Shane 'Hollywood' Hooks Bring to Lane Kiffin's Offense?

OXFORD, Miss. -- With the second NCAA Transfer Portal window open for business, Ole Miss Rebels coach Lane Kiffin could not help but bring in one of the top receivers still available in former Jackson State Tigers wideout Shane 'Hollywood' Hooks.
Hooks announced his commitment to Ole Miss on Thursday via social media and will be joining what is now one of the deepest receiver rooms in the Southeastern Conference.
What is the hype around Hooks? For starters, the Orlando, Fla., native was the No. 1 target in Deion Sanders' offense last fall, leading all Jackson State receivers in receptions (64), receiving yards (748), and touchdown receptions (10). Blessed with a massive 6-4, 205-pound frame, Hooks was the go-to guy for 50-50 balls and one-on-one goal line situations during JSU's historic run.
Hooks will give the winner of the Ole Miss quarterback competition another big target to throw to in the endzone. Look at this spectacular one-handed grab Hooks made versus the Grambling State Tigers, and you will see why Kiffin wanted him in his offense.

Hooks is the third receiver recruited by Kiffin via the portal this spring who measures at least 6-foot-3. Kiffin wanted jump ball specialists, and he got them in transfer wideouts Chris Marshall and Tre Harris. Due to injury, Harris did not see the field in the 2023 Grove Bowl, but Marshall showcased his skills by hauling in 89 receiving yards on four catches.
