2025 4-Star WR Travis Smith Includes Ole Miss in Top 8 Schools

Travis Smith, a four-star wideout from Atlanta, placed the Ole Miss Rebels in his Top 8 schools on Monday.

The Ole Miss Rebels are continuing to build momentum on the recruiting trail for the 2025 class, and that positive trajectory continued on Monday when they made the Top 8 for wideout Travis Smith out of Atlanta (Ga.) Westlake High School.

Ole Miss made the list with a multitude of programs from the SEC footprint as well as one from the Big 12 after extending an offer to Smith in May of last year. You can view the Top 8 announcement here.

Included in Smith's list alongside the Rebels are the Alabama Crimson Tide, Auburn Tigers, Tennessee Volunteers, Colorado Buffaloes, Georgia Bulldogs, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and Oklahoma Sooners. According to a story from On3, Smith has visited each of these schools outside of Ole Miss and Oklahoma, but he plans to get to both Oxford and Norman this spring.

“The relationships are why these schools stand out,” Smith said. “As I’ve been going through this recruiting process, the relationships that I’m building are the ones that I start to focus on and those are the guys I really plan to get to know better.”

Smith also broke down each school that made his list, and he is attempting to mold his game after one wideout in particular who suits up for the Rebels.

“The guy that I look at that’s there currently is Tre Harris," Smith said. "His game, that’s everything I’m trying to do.”

Harris is certainly a strong on-field role model to go after, having led Ole Miss in receiving yards (985) and touchdowns (8) after missing one game in 2023.

Smith joins recent 2025 recruits who have included Ole Miss in their final list along with Jarcoby Hopson and Mantrez Walker.
