Morning Report: Recruiting Wins and Losses Mark Weekend for Ole Miss Rebels

The Rebels won and lost some battles on the recruiting trail this weekend.

Welcome to the Morning Report, a piece from The Grove Report that highlights the news from the day surrounding the Ole Miss Rebels.

Today is July 2, 2023, and here's the news you need to know out of Oxford.

1. Ole Miss won and lost battles on the recruiting trail on Saturday.

Losing a battle over a recruit has been a rare occurrence for the Rebels as of late, but they did lose a prospect to the Oregon Ducks over the weekend. On the other hand, Ole Miss also gained a commitment from a lineman out of Houston, Miss., continuing positive momentum on that front.

2. The final rankings in the Learfield Director's Cup have been released, including Ole Miss' final finish.

After an up-and-down athletic year, the Rebels did not crack the Top 25, but they did finish tops in the state of Mississippi. You can read more here.

3. Pro Football Focus is high on the Rebels' quarterback room entering the 2023 season.
