Ole Miss Lands Commitment From In-State RB Chris Davis

The Ole Miss Rebels got a big win on the recruiting trail on Thursday evening, with Picayune Memorial (MS) running back Chris Davis committing to the program.
Davis made his announcement via Twitter.

Davis picked the Rebels over a myriad of other impressive offers, including Arkansas, Auburn, Florida State, Mississippi State, Missouri, Memphis, Oregon Penn State, South Carolina, Texas A&M and more.
As for why Davis picked the Rebels, the attraction of staying home proved to be the deciding factor.
"The vibes, the place, the people... it’s home," Davis said told the Grove Report of his decision. "I'm blessed to be where I am today. Without the man above I’m nothing, but overall the way they kept it real from the jump, they’ve been there since day one, and been showing love. Why not put on for my home state? No better place to be!"
In his 2022 campaign with Picayune Memorial, Davis was a central role in helping the Maroon Tide to a 15-0 record and a state title, rushing 122 times for 1,078 yards and 15 touchdowns, and making 30 tackles and three interceptions on defense.
And he put up all of those numbers despite sharing the backfield with four-star Oregon signee, Dante Dowdell.
Davis brings a special talent to an Ole Miss program in need of help at the position, and will join fellow 2024 commits Jeremy Scott, Demond Williams, and Fred Clark in what is turning into a talented 2024 class.
