SOURCE: 2024 Mississippi QB Trey Petty to Attend 'Juice Fest' at Ole Miss This Weekend

The Rebels offered the Illinois commit out of Starkville on Wednesday night.

OXFORD, Miss. -- The Ole Miss Rebels are holding their annual "Juice Fest" recruiting weekend this week with multiple prospects expected to arrive on campus as unofficial visitors. On Thursday, another name was added to the list of expected participants.

Trey Petty, a 2024 quarterback out of Starkville (Miss.) High School and current Illinois commit, is expected to be among the quarterbacks at the event, a source told The Grove Report on Thursday. Petty received his offer from Ole Miss on Wednesday night, and he shared the news on social media.

According to On3's recruiting database, Petty is currently a three-star quarterback as he enters his senior season with the Starkville Yellow Jackets. According to his team's MaxPreps page, Petty was responsible for 30 touchdowns through the air last season paired with just seven interceptions. He also accounted for 17 touchdowns on the ground.

Petty committed to the Illinois Fighting Illini on May 4, and the Rebels do not currently have a quarterback commit in their 2024 class. Other signal callers expected at the weekend event include Deuce Knight (2025, George County, Miss.) and Keelon Russell (2025, Duncanville, Texas).

The Rebels have had decent success snagging players from Starkville in recent memory (including former Rebel and current Illinois quarterback Luke Altmyer), so we will see if Lane Kiffin is able to flip Petty's commitment in the coming days.
