Ajani Cornelius Returning to Oregon for 2024 Season

The Ducks will now return both of their tackles along the offensive line to block for new quarterback Dillon Gabriel.

Another key Oregon offensive player will return for the 2024 season.

Oregon Ducks tight tackle Ajani Cornelius announced on social media that he would be returning to Oregon for his senior season.

“Back for everything,” he wrote on social media.

The starting right tackle transferred from Rhode Island, where he played for three seasons before coming to Eugene.

Cornelius made an immediate impact for the Ducks, starting all 14 games this season. He was named to an All-Pac-12 honorable mention and allowed zero sacks while blocking for quarterback Bo Nix throughout the 2023 season.

Before he transferred from Rhode Island, Cornelius was the starting right tackle for an offense that averaged 30.6 points per game and was selected to the All-Colonial Athletic Association first-team in his second full season.

Oklahoma transfer quarterback Dillon Gabriel will have one of the best offensive lines in the country blocking for him this fall, as the Joe Moore award finalist offensive line only lost center Jackson Powers-Johnson and right guard Steven Jones. Those are big losses for the interior of the offensive line, but Gabriel will have Cornelius and standout left tackle Josh Connerly Jr. protecting him in the pass game.

Oregon’s offense has also retained wide receiver Tez Johnson, wide receiver Traeshon Holden, tight end Terrance Ferguson, running back Noah Whittington and tight end Patrick Herbert.

Not only have the Ducks kept key offensive players from entering the 2024 NFL Draft, but they have also returned key defensive players as well.

Defensive end Jordan Burch, linebacker Jeffrey Bassa, and Tysheem Johnson are also returning for the 2024 season.
