Former Oregon Safety Bryan Addison Announces Transfer Destination

Addison has found a new home after playing in just four games for the Ducks in 2023.

Former Oregon Ducks safety Bryan Addison has committed to the UCLA Bruins. He announced his decision over social media on Tuesday night.

The Southern California native will return home to finish out his college career.

Addison hit the transfer portal as soon as it opened on December 4, and he was the second Duck to transfer following true freshman wide receiver Ashton Cozart.

The 2022 starting free safety only played in four games this season, and according to head coach Dan Lanning, Addison had been away from the team since October due to “personal reasons.”

During the 2022 season, Addison started 12 of 13 games, finishing the season with 30 total tackles (19 solo), two interceptions, a forced fumble and five pass breakups.

Addison will now play home games at the Rose Bowl, 30 minutes from his hometown in Gardena. It all comes full circle for him as he originally committed to UCLA in December 2017, and decommitted on July 19, 2018, committing to the Ducks just five days later.

He was rated as a four-star (0.9552) recruit while attending Serra High School according to the 247Sports Composite and was ranked the No. 98 player nationally, the No. 3 athlete and the No. 11 recruit in the state of California.

Addison will have a fresh start in Bruin threads in 2024, which will be his final collegiate season.
