2024 Tupelo (Miss.) linebacker Tristan Jernigan has placed the Oregon Ducks in his top three schools. He announced his updated finalists on social media.

The other two schools to make the cut for the 6-foot-2, 220-pound 'backer are the Georgia Bulldogs and the Texas A&M Aggies.

Jernigan has taken visits to both Georgia and Texas A&M this spring but has yet to take a visit to Oregon. He has not set a commitment date at this time.

Jernigan is rated a three-star (0.8850) recruit by the 247Sports Composite. The same system ranks him the No. 475 player nationally, the No. 45 linebacker and the No. 17 recruit in Mississippi.

The Ducks do not have a true linebacker commit in the 2024 class but are pursuing elite options like Dylan Williams, Justin Williams, Brayden Platt and Kamar Mothudi.

Torres' Take

This is going to be a tough pull for Oregon here in the 2024 cycle. The latest buzz I'm hearing is that Texas A&M has the momentum in his recruitment and could be the team to beat.

Add in that he has yet to take a trip out to Eugene and Oregon's chances don't look too promising.

If the Ducks can get him out for the spring game, when a large group of other Mississippi recruits are expected to visit, maybe they can make up some ground.
