Ten Penn State Players Headed to 2024 NFL Combine

The Nittany Lions set a record under James Franklin for most combine invitations.

Penn State will send 10 players to the 2024 NFL Combine, including six from a defense that ranked second nationally in total yards allowed and third in scoring. The number marks a record for coach James Franklin's Penn State teams, which had sent eight Nittany Lions to the combine twice previously.

The following 10 players will represent Penn State football at the 2024 NFL Combine, scheduled for Feb. 26-March 4 in Indianapolis:

  • Tight end Theo Johnson
  • Offensive tackle Olu Fashanu
  • Center Hunter Nourzad
  • Offensive tackle Caedan Wallace
  • Defensive end Adisa Isaac
  • Defensive end Chop Robinson
  • Linebacker Curtis Jacobs
  • Cornerback Johnny Dixon
  • Cornerback Daequan Hardy
  • Cornerback Kalen King

Isaac, an All-Big Ten defensive end, was a standout at the Senior Bowl, where he earned major praise from scouts and analysts. ESPN's Louis Riddick said Isaac could take another significant step in Indianapolis.

""Let him go to the combine and run a 4.5, 4.6 [in the 40-yard dash], and he's not lasting until the third round," Riddick said. "There's no way I'm waiting that long to draft a guy who's that productive."

Penn State joined Alabama with 10 NFL combines invitations, tied for fifth among college programs. Michigan led the way with 18. The Nittany Lions are coming off a 10-3 season in which they lost to Ole Miss in the Peach Bowl without many of those combine invitees. Hardy played a season-high 84 snaps in the Peach Bowl and was the only combine invitee to play the entire game. Some (like Johnson, Isaac, Jacobs, Wallace and Nourzad) played more limited reps. King, Dixon and Fashanu did not play in the bowl game, though King and Fashanu spent the week in Atlanta with the Nittany Lions.
