Penn State Recruiting: 2025 Lineman Commits to the Nittany Lions

Penn State on Sunday received the first commitment of its January recruiting weekend from Owen Aliciene, a 3-star offensive lineman from Connecticut. Aliciene, who committed to Penn State football's 2025 recruiting class, announced his decision on social media.

Aliciene plays at Avon Old Farms, a prep school in Connecticut, and was on campus for Penn State's Junior Day recruiting event this weekend. A 3-star prospect, according to the 247Sports Composite, Aliciene is listed at 6-7, 255 pounds and projects at offensive tackle. He is a top-50 tackle nationally, according to 247Sports, and the No. 4 prospect in Connecticut. Aliciene had offers from Florida State, Maryland, Michigan State, Pitt and Rutgers, among others.

Aliciene is the eighth player, and first offensive lineman, to commit to Penn State's 2025 recruiting class. Penn State's 2025 class is seventh nationally in the early 247Sports Composite recruiting rankings. The class features three players from western Pennsylvania so far, including 4-star linebacker Brady O'Hara, and quarterback Bekkem Kritza from Colorado.
